Werever Outdoor Cabinets are made from marine grade High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It was engineered for direct exposure to rain, snow, and extreme temperatures, hot or cold. This cabinetry will not split, fade, crack, or chalk. And they definitely wont absorb water and swell like wood cabinetry does. It has several characteristics that make it uniquely suited for outdoor applications.
Sun Safe
The HDPE board we use has ultraviolet inhibitors that act like built-in sunscreen. The UV inhibitors will prevent the board from fading, or becoming chalky like PVC board. HDPE board significantly outperforms even PVC with regard to outdoor exposure resistance.
Easy-To-Clean
The cabinetry can be hose-washed, inside and out. They are designed to be cleaned with just a hose or a power washer.
Stain Resistant
HDPE is very stain resistant. Glues and adhesives wont stick to the board, which also means dirt has a very hard time bonding to the material. In this example of actual outdoor cabinetry, a can of wasp spray rusted, and mixed with a torn fertilizer bag, and even got some lamp-oil spilled to make a very messy, rusty stain. With just a few minutes of scrubbing with a nylon brush using some lime-away to lift the rust, and some Tilex to reduce the stains, the cabinetry looked like new again.
Solid Color
The color is solid through because the material is solid HDPE. It is one homogenous material all the way through. This is not a laminate, or an applied finish, so there is nothing that can peel or delaminate. Even if the material were to become scratched, the same color would show. Nothing sticks to the board, including paint, so there is no maintenance required to keep your cabinetry looking like new. You can realistically expect the finish to maintain the factory-new look for years and years with no sign of changing color or fading.
Critter-Free
There are no organic compounds in the board. Bugs or termites will not eat the material, keeping the cabinetry safe from being destroyed by unwanted visitors.
