Would not recommend this RCA Combo unit to anyone. We have had it for about 4 months and have it hooked up directly to our cable. Depending upon the signal (analog/HD), it can take up to 4 seconds for the station to tune in. Also, when viewing the HD channels, the sound is not synched and is off just enough to annoy the viewer. R.C.A. just came out with a 15" flip down t.v. on sale at Target for $199.00. I installed it and it works great. The stations do not change as quickly as the old flip down, but the picture is beautiful, and the radio and cd/dvd player work great. I love this t.v. I hope it lasts as long as the audiovox

Great TV for the kitchen. I have been researching options for weeks. My priority was good picture quality, especially viewing angle, under counter mount with swivel and a picture larger than 9 inches and smaller than 19. I really like the picture quality and the viewing angle is pretty good. The unit is neat, off the counter and very sleek looking. I also like having the radio. I have it hooked up to cable. Yes, the channel surfing is slow, as said by the other reviewers, but considering the few options to choose from I'd rather have good picture quality. My larger tvs in other rooms with quick surfing are slowed down by the cable box anyway, so I am used to that, and I am not doing a lot of channel surfing in the kitchen. I don't understand why the bigger name manufacturers don't make a 15 inch mountable tv. Apparently the Toshiba can't be mounted and the other available brands got bad reviews for picture quality and viewing angle. Luckily I found the unit at Target (in the store) for $100 less than on-line (but $100 more than the other reviewer paid). I also don't understand why this unit is not on-line by Target or is more readily available and sold considering the other options. The HD channels do come in better, but I think this is a function of today's world with multiple signals, not the unit. If I had a cable box hooked up to it, it would be better, similar to my other tvs. I don't see any problems with the sound being off sync. I also have a suspicion that it is the same tv as the Venturer, it looks the same in the pictures, and I can't find this tv on the RCA website, which seems strange. One star is definitely not fair. My only other complaint is the price is pretty steep on-line. I am glad I got it cheaper, but would have paid more since there is nothing comparable.

Would not recommend this RCA Combo unit to anyone. We have had it for about 4 months and have it hooked up directly to our cable. Depending upon the signal (analog/HD), it can take up to 4 seconds for the station to tune in. Also, when viewing the HD channels, the sound is not synched and is off just enough to annoy the viewer. On a few channels, it is off by a half second.
The remote control can be very frustrating. It practically needs to be pointed directly in front of the unit in order to work properly. It seems the field of view for the remote is around 30 degrees in front of the IR receiver.
The membrane keys on the unit are already starting to bubble after use.
Avoid this RCA unit however you can. Yeah it has a nice picture, but you're sacrificing quite a bit for this.

Since I started buying TVs I have always bought RCA - they are great! we have one from 1981, 1987, 1997 and 2007 - they all still work great, even the black and white one from 1981! But this is not an RCA TV - it has the name but the quality is not there! There is some kind of problem with the "input board" which causes it to lose the channel signal after a few seconds - the picture/audio comes on and then off with "No Signal" displayed. Service is worse - most repair shops won't work on them because it's not RCA anymore. The company that sells this brand makes it difficult to get parts and warranty work is done by a 3rd-party party who is difficult to work with. Thus, my experience with this purchase has been very poor and it is sad because RCA was one of those products you could count on. Unfortunately, I would suggest looking elsewhere for an under-the-counter TV.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! I've had this for just over a year and the PLASTIC hinge broke. There is no customer support for this unit, no replacement parts. Made in china with an RCA nameplate. This screen was never "manhandled" in any way by me or my wife. Nobody recognizes this model # when trying to look for help. Now I'm stuck with a $350.00 pile of useless plastic crap.

My wife had this on her Christmas list and I'd installed it for her that evening. Delivery was recieved in about a week from order with no damage.

Installation is straight forward, allthough I had to supply some appropriate sized washers for use as spacers. Two different lengths of spacers are supplied with this unit, but I wanted to keep the space between the unit and underside of the cabinet at its minimum. 13-1/2" minimum clearance is needed to open this unit and that will leave about 1/4" of space below.

All-in-all, I have to give this product and its delivery high marks. Using a CATV splitter and running it to a faceplate I'd installed near the unit, it's performed flawlessly in each of its advertised functions (AM/FM Radio, DVD, Picture, Sound) so far.

I purchased this unit from Target on sale for $199.00. The channel changing is slow and the volume fades in. That may be a feature of the unit; but I am somewhat disappointed with that. There are no inputs for VCRs, games, etc. The picture quality is not the greatest. It has built in picture modes like Dynamic, Movie, Standard and maybe one other which automatically adjust the brightness, contrast, color, etc. and then personal (what you customize). But I couldn't seem to tweak it to get what I liked. It seemed that the picture is washed out. If you don't have the screen straight in line with the way you are looking, the picture isn't good at all. People's faces have shadows. It is like the real old LCD's where you couldn't view it from an angle. When you fold back the screen, it doesn't stay perfectly flat against the unit. It will hang down an inch or so probably because of the weight and it doesn't have a latch to hold it. I can see eventually if it is folded up and down alot, it may not stay up very well. The radio works well. It also has the volume fade in. You can't punch in your station with the remote so you have to do a channel scan and that seems cumbersome to operate in that it seems unresponsive at times when you try to make the scan continue to finally get to the station you want. The remote works well. It seems to operate from a good distance and angle. The DVD works well but I did notice it seems to be a little noisy when it first starts up. My rating is based on poorer picture quality than a regular LCD TV, no inputs for external devices (I noticed that some 9 or 10" models do have inputs for external devices.) and the other oddities like sound fade and slow channel change in relation to the price. Even on sale, I feel this unit is still $100 over priced. I could over look all of this if the unit was $100.00. I would never pay more than the $199.00 for sure. If you compare just price to other under counter units, the sale for $199.00 seems like a good deal for a 15" dvd/radio unit; but again, it just seems like too much money for the quality.

The pros:
1. Relatively nice picture (your not going to get a 1080p type of picture on a 15" screen and in this price range)
2. The digital tuner pulls in as many stations as much more expensive tv's I have in my house.
3. Very clean and sleek looking.
4. Swivel screen feature is very nice (although the screen doesn't fold completely up it hangs down a couple of inches)
5. Easy to install. Template is included to make drilling a snap
6. Price: $199.99 at Target on sale

The cons:
1. Sound quality is poor. I think the manufacturer could have put a little better quality speakers in the unit
2. I'm using an HD antenna and as other reviewers have stated the sound is slightly behind the picture
and it can't be adjusted. A small annoyance
3. Cheap remote, you have to be directly in front of unit and a lot of the time you have to hit the number 2 or 3 times in order for it to register.
4. As other reviewers have stated there are no inputs for other devices. (Just about all TVs have input terminals but not this one)

So I'm giving it 3 stars, its not bad but it could be a lot better. Then again if the manufacturer added those improvements they would probably raise the price. I'm guessing by the reviews that the quality of this unit is about on par with the other under-counter units out there. Basically if it breaks and the warranty has expired you're just out of luck. I don't think these are the type of products that can be repaired.

Bought this last year for my husband for a Christmas present. At one time, we had a 9" tv/vcr combo that sat on the counter, but got rid of it for lack of counter space. It was replaced with an undercounter radio/cd player with a remote which we used daily and enjoyed. However, this one is the best of all. Picture quality and sound are great!!! Have not noticed lag in switching channels or other problems. Our cable company went to digital boxes recently, and it hasn't been worth it to get one for the kitchen, so the range of channels is limited, but that is a cable problem, not a problem with the unit. It is neat, compact, and we love it. My mother was so impressed when she saw it, she started hinting that she would like one too. Have had difficulty in finding another. Ours came from Target, have not seen it advertised again, it is not on the RCA website, why I haven't a clue. Still looking for another one for my mom.

Bought this TV a year ago. Swivel hinge broke two months ago and there is no support at all from the manufacturer in CHINA! Repair service says they can't get any parts and there is nothing they can do. $200 boat anchor now. Just FYI.
