Sparky, thanks for putting the question out. My wife and I have been doing a lot of cabinet refinishing. My suggestion would be to get a couple fan decks from the paint stores and pick a color that is really close to your countertops. I'd then choose a color that is much lighter than the countertops, but shaded darker than your walls. You'll want some contrast going on. Otherwise, it'll all bleed together, and you don't want kitchen soup...not this kind anyway.
