| when i did the family fest. everyone was very careful about cleaning up water spots on the backspace and the granite counter tops. everyone was very careful opening and closet the cabinet doors. all in all, it's a nice white kitchen with average quality materials, what i specified. the sub-contractors were artisans, and i like that. they were pleasant to have in my house. there was an initial estimating glitch that was taken care of, then, there was a scheduling glitch and i had to abandon my plan to visit family in maryland, a big disappointment to everyone, except my family in chicago, all of whom reaped the benefit of a home cooked thanksgiving fest. the counter sub-contractor, the initiator of the scheduling glitch, had also made a scribing error and had to redo the scribing. this took time. this sub-contractor should be admonished, i think. all sub-contractors' cleaning up was rudimentary and left me with a great deal of work. bleaching the white grout on my ceramic tile floor to my satisfaction took 4-1\2 days. the dust was ground into the grout, despite each sub-contractor laying tarp on the floor. the problem is the tarp is move-able, not tacked down. i'm glad i renovated the kitchen. this wasn't my first rodeo, by the way. this one was more or less pain-free; others were painful. all in all, i'm glad it's over. i am satisfied with home depot's service, their products, and the sub-contractors materials at this early point in time. | |||

| my kitchen looks much nicer with the refaced cabinets; however when you look closely it is far from perfection. the salesman assured me my new doors would be from the finest of wood and that there would be no flaws. they are not many and are small, but there are flaws. the laminate used to cover the existing cabinet frames was done in pieces and the glue used for attaching the laminate is not the fabulous product the salesman sold it to be. there are pieces that are coming loose after just 2 months and these are not areas that have frequent use. i had hoped that this project would give me another 20 years minimum, but i am doubtful they will last 2 years and at $13,000 + i am disappointed to say the least. | |||

| everything about my kitchen renovation project by home depot was done perfectly, from my initial meeting with paul, the sales representative to plan the project, to picking out the granite for the counter tops, to making the selections for the cabinets refacing, and all of the smaller details, there was not one problem. the gentleman who did the laser measurements was precise, the men who installed the granite counter tops were true craftsmen, and the two men who did all of the cabinet work were excellent. the project started on time, all of the materials arrived on time, and the job was completed very neatly and professionally and on time.it was a pleasure to have each of the home depot employees in my home and i am totally satisfied with my new kitchen.in addition, the cost of my renovation, and the quality of the materials involved, and the workmanship could not been better in my opinion. | |||

| from ordering to installation everything went very well with lots of follow-up. several doors and a drawer front were flawed (manufacturing issue) and i was told they would be replaced. two months later and there has been no word and no follow-up on the replacements. still waiting for the project to be completed. | |||
