Replacing the hinges on your cabinet doors can be done yourself. Your cabinets may be in good condition, but the hinges may be old and worn out, causing your doors to sag and not shut properly. You can replace your old hinges with new concealed hinges, which are available in inset, half-overlay or full-overlay types to fit your existing application.

Remove the screws on the hinges holding the hinge to the cabinet using a screwdriver.

Remove the hinge from the cabinet door. Fill any holes with soft wood putty.

Mark the door for the new concealed hinges. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for proper hinge placement on doors, as many hinges are different.

Drill the holes in the back of the door using a Forstner bit and a power drill.

Install the new hinges on the door. Insert the two screws provided with the hinge using a power drill.

Mark the cabinet box for the proper hinge plate location using a pencil. Refer to the installation guide for proper hinge mounting location, as many hinges are different. Fasten the hinge plate to the cabinet side using the screws provided and a power drill.

Lift the door into position. Attach the hinge plate of the door hinge to the cabinet box. Most European hinges clamp on the hinge plate.

Close and open the door to check adjustments. Adjust the hinge as necessary, again referring to the manufacturer's instructions.
