Refresh existing kitchen cupboard and drawer fronts with Rust-Oleum spray paint it costs far less than a new kitchen and gives it an instant uplift.
Remove doors and drawer fronts from the cabinet base, move them to a well-ventilated area and place on top of newspaper or a dust sheet. Mask off any areas of the object not to be painted. Protect the surrounding area with additional dust sheets or newspaper.
Ensure surfaces to be painted are free from loose paint, rust, wax, oil and grease. This is particularly important on old kitchen doors/ drawers where there may be a build up of grease sugar soap will help to remove this. Previously painted surfaces should be abraded to provide a key. Unless you are painting with Rust-Oleum Universal spray paint, bare wood and metal should be primed with Rust-Oleum Surface Primer and bare plastic should be primed with Rust-Oleum Plastic Primer.
Using your selected product / colour hold the can approximately 30cm from the surface of the object(s) and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. For best results whilst spraying keep the can the same distance from the surface and keep the can in motion. Apply several light coats a few minutes apart. For our cupboards we used Rust-Oleum Painters Touch in Spa Blue (Gloss).
