Hey everyone!!! I know it's been a while since my last video. I have a few in the works so I should have a bunch coming soon. This review is for the Rustoleum Kitchen Transformations Kits that you can purchase at your local hardware store or I believe even places like Wal-mart. There are two sizes for the kits and two types (light and dark) based on the color you wish to use. The smaller kit was sufficient for this project and ran around $75. Along with some basic painting supplies (ie. drop cloths, gloves, brushes, etc) I would say it ran around $100.
This kit is all about simplicity and does not require sanding however I would recommend using a 220 grit sandpaper or something light to help with removing any gloss and prepping the surface for paint. This project does require a lot of elbow grease (scrubbing) to get the gloss finish off so get ready to have sore arms.
Another important factor to keep in mind is that after deglossing, between bond (base) coats, the optional glaze, and the protective top coats there are hours of waiting periods. I assumed I'd be able to knock this out within a day and a half but it's easier said then done. I believe this project took me closer to 3 or 4 days.
At the end of the day, as I stated in the review, the quality and beauty that you get from this DIY project seems to be pretty high level and definitely compares at least aesthetically to a professional kitchen cabinet renovation. Please feel free to ask me any questions and/or concerns.
