What is Cabinet Refacing?
Refacing, is a process of completely changing the exterior of your kitchen or bathroom vanity by installing new thermofoil doors and panels over your existing kitchen, while leaving the basic cupboard and shelves as is. Customers can select from modern Shaker Style doors to traditional Raised Panel doors in an array of over 30 colors including the most popular dark chocolate and off-white colors. What are Thermofoil Doors?
Thermofoil doors are made from a Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) core which is highly resistant to warping. The surface of the door is a PVC laminate and is more consistent in color than wood, hence color matching is more uniform from one door to the other.
High quality thermofoil doors are quite durable, easy to clean and are more than able to withstand daily abuse. However there are very few manufacturers that make high quality thermofoil doors and almost too many manufacturers that make cheap and cheerful doors, but unfortunately these doors dont last half as long.
We source our doors from a single dedicated supplier that uses 100% Canadian made MDF along with a high end PVC from Germany. The doors are well made with a finish that is more durable and a definitely notch above all other door manufacturers.
How do I clean and care for Thermofoil Doors
Thermofoil doors can be kept looking like new as long as you use regular dishwashing soap (non-abrasive) and water. Do not use solvent based cleaning material such as lacquer thinners or any product containing acetone, or any abrasive rubbing materials or other harsh cleaners.
What precautions should one take in order to preserve Thermofoil Doors?
High quality thermofoil doors are quite robust and can take a lot of moisture or water. However these doors can get damaged or burnt if electric kettles, toasters or toaster ovens are used directly under the doors. One must make sure that kettles and toasters are either placed as far back as possible or brought forward near the front of the countertop.
We take additional care of our customers doors by installing transparent heat shields on either side of the stove so that the heat from an oven (while on self clean mode) does not damage the doors.

We are closely associated with 2 companies that specialize in fabrication and installation of countertops. One company specializes in stone countertops (including Quartz and Granite) and the second company specializes in laminate countertops.
