Cabinets come in a standard height that tends to be a little short for taller people. By adding some legs to the cabinet, you can make the cabinets look like pieces of furniture. The base cabinet used in kitchen designs is a perfect candidate for this improvement. With a few tools and some wood feet, you can finish this project in less than an hour.

Things You'll Need

• Drill

• Screw dowel

• Drill bit

     Turn the kitchen cabinet on its side and inspect the reinforcements on the bottom of the cabinet. Look for the triangular reinforcement on the corners, as this is where you will attach the wooden feet.

     Use a screw dowel to attach the foot to the cabinet, by measuring one of the screw parts of the dowel and taping that measurement onto your corresponding drill bit. Drill into the cabinet on each of the four corners into the solid wood reinforcements until the bit reaches the tape.

     Drill out the wooden bun feet with the same drill bit that you previously taped.

     Screw the one end of the screw dowel into the wooden foot until it is snug. Twist the other end into the cabinet until it sits snug and the wood surface of the foot is tight against the wood of the cabinet. Repeat for each of the other feet.

     Turn the cabinet upside right and use as normal.
